ather Nicholas Gruner, the founder and Director of the International Fatima Rosary Crusade, was born in Montreal, Canada in 1942. He is a graduate of McGill University with post-graduate degrees in Theology from the Pontifical University of St. Thomas Aquinas in Rome. Father Gruner is a Roman Catholic priest in good standing who was ordained at Our Lady of Good Counsel Shrine in Frigento, Italy in August, 1976. In 1978, with the permission of his bishop, he began his full-time commitment to Our Lady's Fatima Apostolate. Since that time, Father Gruner has been exclusively promoting, preaching and lecturing in the United States, Canada and overseas on the Fatima Message. Father Gruner is the author of the book World Enslavement or Peace as well as scores of magazine and newspaper articles. He is the founder and publisher of the Fatima Crusader magazine, the largest journal in the world devoted to the Message of Fatima. Since 1987, he has been the host of his own daily radio program entitled "Heaven's Peace Plan." In 1989, Father Gruner brought the Fatima Message to television for the first time with"Fatima: The Moment has Come," a weekly television series that is currently broadcast across the United States and Canada.
Long considered one of the world's leading authorities on Fatima and traditional Roman Catholic doctrine and practice, Father Gruner is a frequent guest on radio and television and a sought-after speaker at conferences and public events around the world. He has received numerous awards and is the 1996 recipient of the St. Louis de Montfort prize. Despite an intense and busy schedule, Father Gruner still finds time to travel extensively with the Pilgrim Virgin Statue blessed by Pope Paul VI in 1967. In the last two decades, he has preached on the Fatima Message in cathedrals and churches in more than 500 cities and 30 countries around the world. In 1993, His Holiness, Pope John II sent his personal blessing to Father Gruner "for his sixteen years' priestly service and for his very important apostolic work with the Fatima Crusader."
Father Gruner is the subject of a biography (released Winter 1997) entitled Fatima Priest written by the Catholic author Francis Alban. Father Gruner himself is currently at work on a new book discussing the unique significance of the Fatima Message at the end of the 20th Century.
